Cyclones are used as a convenient way quickly change sowing configuration eg. from a 32 row winter cropping system to an 8 row summer cropping system.
Seed and fertiliser enters the cyclone through the four outlets and most of the air is released to the atmosphere through an overhead vent, while the seed/fertiliser falls to the ground at low velocity.
